at first is mail to canada was going missing now it takes forever 3 weeks minimum does anyone else have same problem

We get a lot of mail to our office which should go abroad. Make sure it is clearly labelled 'CANADA' otherwise any the sorting machines won't recognise it and any similarity to a uk address may be picked up up on.
Mail can often just bounce around from office to office when there is no clear destination for it.
(Don't forget, we have thousands of items to sort and therefore only seconds to view and decide what to do with any out of the ordinary letters. We generally don't even have time to read much past the first line so if it says Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada B3J 3C8 it could well end up at the Halifax in Birmingham).

The stupid LSM sometimes reads a country name as a postcode :/ that can cause delays. My old walk used to have a post code on it that looked like the name of a country to the LSM. Tons of missorts all the time and they would often work their way back to me after I had sent them back on the outward.
