I am in Dunfermline awaiting two parcels posted on the 4th and 6th of January, both first class, so we are not alone.

:wave

As I mentioned in another thread, a postie advised me today that there was still a big backlog and staff from other areas have been brought in for this week to help to clear the backlog. I'm beginning to think that my parcel's been part of the beginning of the backlog and it's never making its way to the front to get delivered - it was posted in the london area on 2nd December.

parcels (in our office anyway) are always left if there is too much work.

our order of imporance is-

1st class letters,
D2Ds!
2nd class & magazines.
mail sort.
packets.
god knows why RM must be paying a fortune in compo!

I've no chance then - it's a large package around 10kg in weight. I'll take a trip to our local delivery office tomorrow on the off chance.

Thanks for advising what the order of priority is, it definitely will be the last piece of the current backlog.

And THAT'S our biggest problem, in the long run. Parcels are by far the biggest potential growth area. And yet RM Management aren't providing the equipment or resources to deal with them. That failure, is going to cost a lot of jobs in the next decade or so. :arrrghhh :hmmmm :arrrghhh

We (Posties) all know that we're doing as much as WE can to provide a good service for parcels, as well as letters, Mags, etc.. But there's only so much we can do, without the neccessary equipment and manpower. Why doesn't Management wake up and smell the coffee?!?!?
