No. 031/11

Ref:

Date: 11 January 2011

To All Branches

Dear Colleagues,

KTPP - Update

1. Demonstration, 9 January 2011

Thanks and congratulations are due to all those responsible for organising and attending Sunday's March and Rally, held in the Centre of the Prime Minister's constituency in Witney, Oxfordshire.

It was heartening to see a significant turn-out comprising a range of labour movement and community groups, with CWU attendees from across the union.

Photographs and reports from the day's events can be found on our campaign web pages:

Keep the Post Public Campaign or on Facebook pages Keep the Post Public

2. Postal Services Bill - Report Stage and Third Reading, 12 January 2011

Amendments to the Bill have to be submitted by the close of Parliamentary business today, 10 January 2011. As soon as we are able to do so, details will be circulated to branches. Information on amendments to the Bill can also be found online at:

http://services.parliament.uk/bills/201 ... ments.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Committee Room 7 at the House of Commons will be available from 10:00am to 13:00pm as a meeting point and a base for branches to brief their MPs, should they be planning to visit parliament on Wednesday.

The Room is booked in the name of Michael Connarty MP (Labour, Linlithgow and East Falkirk), Secretary of the CWU-supported group of MPs.

3. National Demonstration - Kingston Upon Thames, 22 January 2011

Details for the national demonstration can be found at:

Branches are asked to ensure the maximum possible attendance.
