Time off in lieu at Christmas?
Don't know if anyone can shed any light on this, but my hubby is a Postman and has been told that because his rest day falls on Christmas day, he's not entitled to a day off in lieu.
I thought that this couldn't be so, but checking the union thread it appears that this is correct

as far as I know you do get the day back....or the option of overtime

I am scheduled day off Xmas Day, and New Years Day. Checked my Annual Leave Card yesterday, and the little cherubs have already credited me with two days.
There was a Joint Statement on it for Counters, but don't know about Royal Mail. As I understand it, this cannot be taken as Overtime, and is an agreement outwith COSA.
