Welcome.

Tips:

Strong waterproof boots especially in this weather.
Good jacket and waterproof trousers.
Take a drink with you - even on cold days its amazing how thirsty you can get.
Hat is also a must.

Be prepared to flake out when you get home as this is a physical job, more especially at Christmas.

Welcome fletcherbaker :wave

Make sure your Dom introduces you to the local CWU rep and the office Workplace coach right away and join our Union.
If you are gonna be a delivery postman it will be very tough at first, expect about 12 weeks before you settle down and get the hang of things, after that it should be ok. :pray Good Luck.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

tip - starting looking for a new job asap lol

Have a good read around this forum, and don't let managers take the piss out of you, you never have to work over your contracted daily hours unless you want to and book overtime. If you are finding it hard to get all the mail ready that is their problem not yours. Managers will bully and lie to you to get you to complete because they hate having to go out and do it and so will tell you anything to avoid that outcome.

Never ever trust a single word a manager utters. "I'm not like the others" "I'm an honest guy" :left: :left: :left: liars to a man, don't know why, don't care . Never met an honest or upright one yet.Not sure about the one that vanished after 3 weeks ,but he disappeared quick so he might have been trustworthy :chuckle
