Dear George

ROYAL MAIL PRIVATISATION

You will recall on Saturday November 20th 2010, the CWU made contact with members of your Executive Council.

The purpose of that contact was to seek the permission of your Executive for the CWU to be allowed to address your Executive Council meeting which was being held on Monday 22nd November at 10.30 a.m. in South Kensington.

In the event your President left me a phone message informing me that both you and he felt it was not appropriate at this stage.

On Monday morning (22nd November) I attended the hotel in South Kensington where the meeting was being held to personally deliver some material that I believe would assist your Executive Council’s deliberations. You did advise me by text that you had ensured their distribution to your Executive.

Andy Furey and myself met with you on Monday November 22nd at 6.00 p.m. in the Institute of Directors to discuss the current position on Royal Mail Group privatisation. You informed Andy and myself that provided you had answers to the letter you had written to Iain Duncan Smith MP, Minister for Works and Pensions and Ed Davey MP, Minister for the Post Office, you would be supporting the Bill to privatise Royal Mail.

On Wednesday November 24th, at a meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Post Office, you said you would be supporting the Bill. This is despite the fact that you had not received the assurances you had sought.

The CWU believes that this is short sighted.

We once again ask for an opportunity to meet with your Executive to put the CWU case.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

W HAYES
General Secretary

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
