Scotland - 5 Major RIDDORS - Already in November

Accordingly so far in the month of November 2010 there has been 5 Major RIDDORS reported by Royal Mail in Scotland. The accident investigations with input from the persons on delivery, have shown they all could have been avoided according to the (RM Mailing from Edinburgh Mail Centre - KEEP YOURSELF SAFE THIS WINTER) to I presume all Scottish posties.

Last year in Scotland from December through to March there was 21 Major RIDDORS.

They say all accidents can be avoided but as I pointed out to my manager, the best way to avoid them is by not putting people under so much pressure to finish their duties, too much haste causes accidents.

Got the letter about RIDDORS but what does it stand for?

As said in previous post, surprising there wasn't more accidents last year with the snow, 6 weeks of the stuff and not a delivery day missed.

Read the letter briefly, but did it not state that all accidents could of been avoided by the posties. I'm sure if your in a collision with a car and its not your fault and you manage to break a bone in the process then are royal mail still blaming the postie for this accident in the letter?

Accidents will happen we are all human not robots but the letter is my eyes is a bit of cold one by mentioning that all accidents could of been avoided, unfortunately we are not invincible.

With input from the delivery persons involved, the investigators were able to show that all 5 accidents could have been avoided.

True CCR, best to say that you where doing everything the way it should be, proper uniform, walking on the paths, not reading the mail as you're walking and all those other things we may do that can catch us out.

Deny doing anything wrong and if push comes to shove - pick a place on the wall and just stare at it and ignore everything else being said
