Hi,
first post!
Ordered a new phone on Ebay on Sunday as I had mine stolen.
On Monday, the seller posted it special delivery and gave me a tracking number for it.
The tracking number showed it was being progressed through the network for delivery on Monday, then imagine my shock when I checked it Tuesday lunchtime and it said it had been delivered from my local sorting office.
It's now Wed afternoon and I haven't recieved it yet - Where's it gone?
Have I just lost my money?

Contact Customer Care straight away as they will have more access than both you and us can get through the public system.
It you use twitter try contacting Royal Mail at @RoyalMail they have a good reputation for sorting things out

have now done both - Contacted Customer Services and RoyalMail on Twitter. Cust Care said it'd be Friday or Saturday before they got a reply from the depot about it.
Not great when I'm stuck without a phone!!
I'll let you know how I get on

EDIT - Meant to say, their records show it was delivered at 12.15 on Tues, but have no signature or ePod available.

Should not happen, but could check with a neighbour to see if they signed for it and took it in, and just not got round to bringing the item round to you yet

I would go along with what crofty said, special delivery Items are not meant to be left with neighbours but it is possible that it happend. Other than that I would say the seller put a wrong address on the item, it is also possible that they may have scammed you somehow, ask the seller for confirmation showing the postal address he filled out was yours. A tracking number don't mean s**t, he could have just posted it to hiself so when a claim is put in on paypal he can show a tracking number. All sorts of possiblities, mistakes can be made but it is rare with Specials because royal mail regard them so highly.

I would also contact your local delivery office to see if it's there. Special Deliveries are still being scanned as delivered if the PHG hasn't heard back from the postie to say it's not been delivered.
