Fair play but fails to mention that post is in decline and will keep declining. If thats not believed then it should say so and show evidence to back it up. Will need more than words to get govt to change their minds. Sorry, but I think they will win.

Things is, no matter how well meaning that bit of paper, it will have NO effect on the goverments plan. At heart the CWU is completely resigned to the sell off and is only going through the motions to hang on to what few members it has left and to reduce damage. The union doesn't have the money to fight, is losing ground on backbench help, ruined the last chance it had during recent govt meetings and is already planning to sell CWU HQ off and get something cheaper. The collapse of the CWFS should say it all.

Anyone who honestly thinks they can win on this needs to lie down in a dark room with a towel on their head. The union may be alright for minor grievances but its dead on every other front and has been even before the last agreement. A few blow up post boxes and Billy waving his arms about won't do diddly squat. :whistle

They won't make much from selling off HQ....
The UCW Pensions 2001 Fund has a first legal charge over the property at 150 The Broadway, Wimbledon, to
the value of £5,800,000, as security over the deficit in that particular pension fund.

I would rather try and fail than not try at all.

That's the whole point though...they're not even trying...they are going through the motions.
Demo's at 11am on a wednesday or thursday are not really going to be packed with OPGs are they.

And that old saying cuts no ice. You don't need to keep banging your head on a brick wall to know it hurts - unless completely devoid of brains.

Not heard of the Spartans then NT. It may not cut any Ice with you but I agree with Geordie some un-winable battles are worth fighting after all if Old Winnie had accepted the wisdom of senior members of his own cabinet and government and even among the Royal Family then Europe would either be part of a German or Russian Empire. At least we wouldn't be in the EU though :Very Happy

As to banging your head against a brick wall, sometimes you have to do just that so that people are aware of your frustration or disagreement with something. I will, if you don't mind, carry on banging my head even beyond privatisation. I think Privatisation of RM is a mistake that will eventually bite the country on the arse and I will continue to fight it to the best of my ability.

You can if you wish roll over, jump, beg for chocolate or any other tricks, what ever floats your particular boat.

So our lack of credible leaership, is a reason to give up then? :hmmmm
I don't intend to give up. I'll do what I can, with, or without a Naional Leader. Surrender isn't an option. Although failure is the most likley outcome.

Word is that Royal Mail H.Q. is decked out from top to bottom in Persian carpets but like the saying goes give me Leonidas any old day :whistle

Mandelson couldn't find a buyer, what makes you think Osborne and Cable will be able to ?
