An organisation has highlighted share ownership schemes as the way forward should the Royal Mail become privatised.
Bosses at ifs ProShare have suggested that staff retention and productivity can be improved by introducing an employee benefits scheme whereby workers hold ten per cent of the company's shares.
The group has claimed that the idea continues to be overlooked because people have a lack of knowledge about such initiatives.
Head of employee share ownership at ifs ProShare Alexy Armitage referenced companies such as Sainsbury's, Marks & Spencer and BT as successful examples of how share ownership can be implemented.
"They are a very useful, simple and tax-efficient savings mechanism for employees of all income levels, delivering benefits not only for employees, but for employers and the wider economy too," she remarked.
Bosses at the postal workers' union are against the privatisation of the Royal Mail as they hold fears that workers will suffer through redundancies and a reduction in pension entitlement.

Royal Mail workers 'would gain from shared employee benefit'
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Royal Mail workers 'would gain from shared employee bene
Im sure the shares scheme would be good in places where the productivity levels are approx 75% and where workers will increase to 90%
but in RM where they expect 130% at the moment what f*cking chance have we got when owners
of a privatised RM will want more & more. Im F*cked now without doing roughly double what
I do now

The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.
The time has come for union.

That explains it then - when it was government owned they weren't worried about the pension or redundancies - so what's the difference..............union dogma as opposed to Tory dogma?
