Overtime changes!!

Post by POSTMAN »

From Monday down our way and i think spreading around London.

When you come in your rest day to do a walk you get 8hrs.
When you do an overtime walk while you are already in,you only get 6hrs!!
When 2 of you do a walk on overtime if you're already in you get.....................5hrs!!!!!

Film at 11

Its the I.P.S. part that they are removing from belateds if your already in, and to be honest its a very if not impossible point to win as I.P.S.is done at start of normal duty. The point to argue about is how much is stopped,in our office 2hours a day is allocated for I.P.S. BUT REMEMBER WE DO A 10 HOUR DAY.It will be a lot less for you guys on 8 hour days e.t.c.
It pisses me off big time as i believe they dont want people doing walks on docket and would rather have casuals in doing it for less but with no concern about quality.Do people still do belateds out there ? its a very very rare thing in my office even when its a light day we still have to call in clusters (4 today)

I agree with both of your points, RM dont want US to do O/T. And when the union dont fight enough for FULL TIMERS RIGHTS this is wot happends.. A sinking ship attitude started and we all know there is a Rat on board in every office D.O. or M.C. More so now... The shame is WE let this happen after the way forward came steaming in... :d'oh! The 9hr away rule, ngt allowance, wknd allowance, most of the changes only affected US long term, The full timers.. RM had done there homework and prayed on the greed of human nature. Starve the ship and watch as the crew scavenge on the scraps that get thrown and we thank RM for the chance to have thoes scraps... (AINT IT NICE OF EM??) Union MUST always fight for Pensionable pay rises. But also dont sell off or make deals with RM over A.G.'s OR casual workers. Forget the RM making the part timers into full time... Was never gonna happen but the CWU wanted to fight this fight,,, Y???? In my view ONLY to swell the coffers of the input of subs.. But never made a real effort to adjust the balance. The rights of O.P.G'S Full timers.. LOOK AFTER THE WORKERS WHO HAVE STOOD ON PICKET LINES, LOST MONEY FOR A CAUSE, BEEN BULLIED,HARASSED, PATRONISED AND NOW TRYING TO STOP THE FLOOD OF NON CARING PEOPLE WHO HAVE 2ND 3RD JOBS WORKING NEXT TO THEM.... JUST NOT RIGHT IN MY BOOK.. :so there

OUT

DONT ADD TO THE DOWNFALL... :Applause

IPS i can understand,in my old office i think about an hour was taken off.
I can't see where they get 2 hrs from,it's just a saving they wanna make and i presume it's been plucked out of the air.
The 5hr bit with 2 bods, the reason was that 2 people can throw it in quicker.

Peeps will still do the OT like Rocky said,do you rem when the Saturdays changed from SA to Green Docket, the ban lasted about a month, then back to normal.

My lino weasel did say that a lot of the Doms and linos didn't agree with it but it fell on deaf ears.
RM are prepared to pay an agency £15.00 an hr to cover it,much like the Sat business, but then like i said it will eventually get done by Blue Shirts anyway, and RM know that!

It starts Mon for us,there's only 3 in our office that do ot anyway,1 not bothered,1 is away but the other one......
Will do the 6hr bit,but not the 5,but when she does the 6hr bit, she's gonna be forced to do the ips as they don't do it now and they'll be no bag drops or waiting around for her/them ect.

I feel for 2 of them as they do s**t loads when they can,but there has to be a stand somewhere.

this is a bit simplistic I know but, if you don't like the deal on what they offer you for overtime payments then don't do the work.
The short term loss is soon made up when they realise they have to pay fair to get the job done
If the whole office sticks together the screws either pay a fair rate or do the jobs themselves and we all know they don't like doing that

Yes,but there are always people that would do it,we are on the vans and docket is still being done by 2 in our office :d'oh!
This happened when they changed the Sat SA a few years back,no one done anything for a couple of weeks then it was back to normal.
RM know this happens, once again we're our own worst enemies!

In my office we can still negotiate with the lino. I heard of one Blue shirt asking and getting 10hrs for only taking out 2/3 of a walk. The prep was done by a gut on light duties. Mind you it was on a Saturday just before a Bank Holiday.

In our office they introduced 5 hrs for working your day off.In theory your walk will be thrown in for you by the time you get in.All the f/timers have refused to do it.It was funny last week because they were so desperate they started offering 8 hrs again and we told them no unless it was permanantly restored. They refused so we did too, hence doms from other offices having to do walks.(I am always amazed when this happens because its ridiculous how much 2nd class & pkts the tossers end up not taking.Wilful delay anyone?)
