didn't even know this site existed until someone in my office said that 3 postal workers had killed themselves in the same office, and i told my missus and she went online and found this site, and so here i am. The names Andy, been with royal mail 28 yrs now, firstly in knutsford, cheshire and now in cheltenham glos. The job has changed beyond all recognition as i'm sure anyone with a few yrs experience will agree. So hard these days, maybe thats because of my age
or because, despite all this rubbish about mail volumes dropping, my workload has never been heavier!!Union has sold us out completely!! did 5 d2d's this week and a few months ago would have been paid £50-£60 for those...now its a flat rate of £20!!! what a joke!!...plus absorbing everyday....and now with later starts we're hangin about waiting for the last tray of mech mail to arrive from gloucester, which can come any time between 8.45 and 9.30 am..but u know what? the deliveries that have to be absorbed, yeah there mail all arrives early in the morning,,no waiting for them!....complete disaster this company is, its going backwards rapidly...and saturdays!!! don't even get me started there...watchin dads with there kids today going out..familys going out and there i am trudging round delivering stuff that people will take one look at and bung to one side, to look at later....thanks union and thanks royal mail cos i'm sure there ain't much difference these days
