Meeting for Glasgow posties is at 11am in the Central Hotel. Was on picket line today. As far as i know only one guy scabbed out of over a thousand workers. CWU reps met management this afternoon. Some type of agreement to get put before members, concerning the drivers, but don't know what. Night shift as you know walked out on Monday in support of drivers, so this will be third night on strike for them. At least one driver who was getting his pay stopped for refusing to cross picket line this afternoon was eventually told he will be payed. So maybe management are starting to feel the heat! :lfo :cfo

Their arses should have been white hot since the other day, they must be wearing fireproof uniforms or something. There's only one side that'll back down in these situations .. and it's not usBill wrote:Meeting for Glasgow posties is at 11am in the Central Hotel. Was on picket line today. Apparently the drivers who had pay stopped will now be paid until the point that Glasgow MC walked out and not as originally said from the point of refusing to cross picket line at Edinburgh Airport...BOLLOX.. as one driver said he has refused to cross picket lines at crown offices and unison ,cos social care workers are out on strike in Glasgow at the moment, and hasnt had pay stopped so why single these drivers out.
STICK TOGETHER !
STICK TOGETHER !

This should have been the way the entire UK strikes should have been from the start .. bigger impact and longer term. Ok yes more impact financially on us, but we've already had 3 single days of IA all to no avail.
Show solidarity .. DON'T stay at home or treat as a day in lieu !!

Just home from picket 2am and edinburgh mail centre is still solid . 3 Dundee 600s , one Stirling and one Newcastle scabbed while i was there . Can they not understand the concept of solidarity and that no office should handle scab blacked mail as Edinburgh refused to do when RM tried to transfer Glasgow mail to us . Its our only means of unity and defence against being picked off one office at a time .

7.00 a.m just back from our picket line - 4 in out of 160 - 1 union member (acting manager)- very difficult to get people to man the picket. I've heard a million excuses but as you say many people are treating this as another day off.Alzaman wrote:This should have been the way the entire UK strikes should have been from the start .. bigger impact and longer term.
