Latest News
Liverpool Mail Centre is now on strike due to managers driving mail into the building, Postal workers were ordered to unload the lorry, which they refused. Liverpool M/C is now on indefinate strike, which will probably spread. I will keep you posted.

thanks dude its f**k ing hard i know when your mates who have supported you through this strike have been shafted by r m but like you say there rubbing there hands together id of probably done the same as them but you have to take a side line and reflect on the whole picture this is what r m want to happen , mass walk outs and they can spread it all over the news that its all unnoficial and try and turn the public against us, last week on the picket line i was giving out leaflets and just chatting in general to the public and every single one of them down here in abergavenny south wales was in support of us ,,,,, lets try and keep it that way guys

Liverpool Dispute
I see your point, but Managers have been trying to provoke a walkout in Liverpool [ and in other Mail Centres] since the dispute began. This was bound to happen somewhere. There has been no collections in the Town centre today and our Delivery offices are due out tomorrow. I don't know were this is going.

Liverpool Dispute
WELL WE BIT!
The only consolation I have is that the businesses in Liverpool will be chewing the Mail centre Managers ear off, to get us back to work, but I can see this dispute heading like 1988!

Well......it looks as if the poo is gonna hit the fan Thurs/Friday,i have written in some threads on here and other forums urging people not to bite at RM managers antics, well it looks as if thats gone out the window.I think at the moment we have the support of some media and much of the public, unofficial action could see that change very soon. The lads at our office have gone out of their way to adhere to managements daft instructions, drivers have been pulled off collections and we have casuals doing walks and sorting.......no we aint happy with the situation but have been urged by CWU to keep the strike legal.
It kills me to say it......but i think the IA may wane somewhat if people are asked to walk out on unofficial IA,as for me i'll cross that bridge when i come to it.
Dont knock me for what i have written,29 years on the RM and i have seen my fareshare of IA official & unofficial,i was hoping my last few years would be peace-ful....some chance
Steve

wildcat's aren't illegal - just don't have the protection of the law. It means you can get sacked for being on strike and won't get protection in a tribunal, but if it's solid then that's unlikely - since we all know what will happen.wakkono wrote:loks like this is getting out of hand boys glasgow first and then liverpool as much as i commend you for taking to the picket lines lets not forget that its illegal to do so unless official
Also - public support is nice, but it doesn't make any difference about whether you lot win or not. The thing that'll swing that in the long run is if the rest of the public sector are out at the same time - local government, civil service, nurses and midwives. If the unofficial spreads that's the time to start going to people in those sectors and getting them out as well. Flying pickets are unrealistic maybe, but it's possible to organise meetings, leaflet etc.
