Aye he did have a mixed approach to workers rights. As Home Secretary in 1910 he improved safety in the mines and prevented the employment of child miners, though disappointed radicals by deploying troops in Wales during a miners strike.

If they dont then please everybody stick to your 318 and no favours etc, people in MC's stick to steady away sorting do not rush about like a lunatic clearing mail etc Also would be a nice idea for everyone to kick the O/T in the head if theres no IA happening... :dance

The last IA dates were for 3 weeks, so next weeks action is already known. I think the Union will wisely wait and see how the talks go first, they still have time to announce the next batch of strikes.

I agree with a comment posted earlier - September will be the time when any IA will have more effect as it is one of the busiest months.

Everyone just needs to hang in there during August if we're going to see the result we want.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
