I know that a few more thousand jobs may have to go but hopefully for those like myself who have been with RM for years will be ok.
My only concearn will be what kind of contract will we be on in a few months time and what kind of salary we will have ....
Future is looking grim .

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I presume ( for both of you ), if MON-FRI deliveries do come in, you will be running to your respective DOMs with a letter giving a week's notice in your hands?royalmailslave wrote:chickenwittle wrote:i am all for mon to friday deliveries who wants to be out there till 3 on saturday if it means job losses so be it union should have listened and did more to get rid of saturdays during the dispute

I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Agreed, but the job i took nearly 13 years ago,we started at 5am and we were done by 10.30 tops, now i know times are changing........ but im f,ckd if i want to work till 3pm on a Saturday.
In all honesty the Saturday *isnt* the issue with me........its the time they want us to work till.
Lets be honest lads/ladies weve all got lives to lead/families etc etc out of that place.
All the time they are telling us the volume of mail is dropping, its a complete load of codswallop,
Why,a few years ago did we get 2 van deliveries of mail, and now we are seeing 3,4 and sometimes 5 (per day).
Why,a few years ago was i taking 4 bags of mail out 5 (tops) on a busy day,and now i am taking 7 on a normal day,i had 9 one day last week.
if they tell you something so many times you tend to start believing it,not me.

The question begs,*if* i was a colleague of certain faith, would i be entitled to have every Saturday off work?,because its against said religion to work on a Saturday??

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

And,with the help of agreements and the CWU i now work one day less than a lot on here.SWIM wrote:and you took the job on a 5 day/week basis, not 4.POSTMAN wrote:You took the job on that stance i believe.royalmailslave wrote:POSTMAN wrote:f**k off! I want my 4 day week, feck the 5 days only shite!

My home life and finances have improved in the 15 years i have been here.
I also work harder which is not a problem.
There are ways to get more time out of the job if people work hard enough to sort them out.

All depending on who you are, favouritism is huge in our office.........you try getting that Saturday off you so desperatly need, not a chance!!!
Im owed 3 days in annual leave and 3 times ive tried to book them, and 3 times ive been refused........its a total shambles,an absolute disgrace, only to find out someone else in the office has been granted them, ive actually given up.
