I hear they had a mass sit in which lasted a few hours before it was resolved. Sorry mate, I don't know any more than that, but if I do, I'll let you know.

Is that deffo mate? Our Area Rep heard it was a sit in which had been resolved.

strike

URGENT talks were being held today in a bid to end a wildcat strike by thousands of Glasgow postal workers.

Workers at the main Glasgow Mail Centre in Springburn are on strike for a second day in a bitter dispute with Royal Mail, which now covers 13 centres across west Scotland.

It's believed around 6000 postal staff are staging unofficial strikes today.

However, urgent talks between Royal Mail and the Communication Workers Union began at 11am today in Glasgow.

advertisementPhil Brown, of the CWU, said: "We are very hopeful we can resolve the unofficial action and get our members back to work today."

The CWU is planning to hold a mass meeting of its Glasgow branch in the city centre tomorrow.

According to some sources,Manson (RM Sector Manager) was pulling his hair out of his head in anger, the reason being that Royal Mail will get fined for unofficial action affecting the quality of service, when they wont get done for official action.
where did you find this out Yahoorsur? Any reps been threatened with paying the costs of the strike?

I think it is now time to let the media know that we have managers driving vans they are not trained to drive, ignoring the european working time directive, abusing security at airports to pick up mail..and a lot lot more. ROYAL MAIL MANAGEMENT FROM THE TOP DOWN CAUSED THIS DISPUTE AND NOW THEY IGNORE THEIR OWN RULES AND LAWS TO TRY TO BEAT US.

WE WILL NOT BE BEATEN AS THIS IS OUR FUTURE AND IF YOU SPINELESS SCUM THINK ABOUT IT, IT IS YOUR FUTURE AND JOBS TOO.

Just back from the picket at Motherwell D.O.Just a wee update Collection Drivers from Bellshill, Hamilton, Shotts, Larkhall and Wishaw D.O's all refused to cross our picket so it will be prob safe to say that they have been suspended and their offices all might go out in support of them.
