What are the pros & cons of either.
If we are floated on stock Market and there is no 1 major shareholder how different would it be to now.

well for a start, all the conditions we have now, would be chucked
i think our wage rates,SA,overtime rates, unsocial hour premiums, etc etc
would all go out the window

Re: Stock Market Floatation v Buy Out / Takeover
So would there be no difference to us, say between a full TNT takeover and full or partial floatation on stock Market.
I can see the negatives with another company taking us over, putting us on parity with their other workers T&Cs which I presume will be worse.
But a floatation were say no other competitor is the major shareholder how can our T&Cs be matched up/worsened to competion levels then.
Just asking questions to get answers & opinions.

If I am correct and I stand to be corrected, I believe that our terms and conditions would have to be honoured for a certain time span, and I have no idea how long that might be. If terms and conditions were scrapped immediately in favour of worst terms then I believe that this would be a case for Royal Mail paying us redundancy as the new job would not constitute suitable alternative employment due to the inferior terms, and then the new employer would be able to take us on assuming we wanted a job on their own terms and conditions.

Probably be sold to some asset stripping venture capitalist company, that will slash full time jobs, fill the spaces with casuals, hike the prices as high as they can sell all assets property, machinery and fleet, on a lease back scheme, then flog a debt ridden barely keeping its head above water company to some foreign investor, that will then need a government hand out to keep the USO going and of course make more profit the DSA competition, and of course more government cash to pay the shareholders.

re this article, is there a time scale for which this article applies?. and does this automatically cover the new 2010 agreement as parts still to be implemented ( the rest of our colleague share money!)
