Merged the 'strikes' topic with the poll one.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Totally out of order. Yet again you make a post that is deliberately calculated to cause offense . Rest assured ,if you ever stoop so low as to post anything I agree with ever again I will make a formal complaintTman wrote:Really? BT was privatised back in the '80s yet clearly the CWU weren't "finished" then, were they?Billy,Dave,Bob and Co all know that the union is finished after privatisation and will do anything to defeat it or stall it...and i mean anything.
Maybe you need to get away from this strange mind-set that the CWU is some sort of separate entity from, and exerts unwanted power over, the work-force?
If you don't like them, vote them out, or are you like {A N Other} who's left the union but negatively posts at every chance....

A serious question
I'm curious: Are those of you who say you're not going to Srike if ask by te CWU, just saying that you'll vote no. Or are you seriously considering crossing the Piket Lines, if we do Strike?

You should. As bell-wether for Axey and Disgruntled, you've already spoilt thier day by posting the above, so it's time for you to make amends....Totally out of order. You have to be careful with this site Andy.andy2007 wrote:I'm curious: Are those of you who say you're not going to Srike if ask by te CWU, just saying that you'll vote no. Or are you seriously considering crossing the Piket Lines, if we do Strike?
People on forums for some reason think that everything has to be black or white.
If you agree with the prevalent mood you get these...
Life isn't like that,it's full of shades of grey,if you try to explain that you may have conflicting views on a subject certain posters will try their hardest to place you in one camp or the other...even to the point of questioning your union membership
Most of the posters who are members will still support the CWU despite their anger because they realise that the alternative will be worse...i would doubt if any of them would cross a picket line...in my opinion there won't be any strikes but that's just an opinion like everyone else's on here.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

This is The MOST IMPORTANT situation ever in our history!
The answer is and must be a firm YES!!!!!

You will be expected to work 'as directed' regardless of where or when and your hours may vary daily.
'YOUR OLD CONTRACT WITH ROYAL MAIL NO LONGER EXISTS!'

THE PEOPLE ARE BEHIND US, THAT IS WHY WE NEED TO TELL THEM THE TRUTH FROM THE START!
IF ANY PUBLIC BODY HOLDS THE 'TRUMP CARD' IT IS US!
THE COUNTRY IS LOOKING TO THE HUMBLE POSTY TO SAVE THIS NATION FROM POLITICAL OBLIVION!
WE DON'T EVEN HAVE TO STRIKE, (not in the first instance), as there are other ways open to us now as never before.
'DSA' mail, why in Gods name are we doing a competitors job so that they can strip this organisation and public body of its rightful earnings? This is a European Rule. We're fighting two enemies here, neither wanted by the people. They only serve to enhance and protect the wealthy of this country and Europes elite.
IF WE'RE GOING TO GO DOWN THEN WE SHOULD GO DOWN FIGHTING TO THE BITTER END!
THIS IS THE FINAL PUSH ON THE FRONT LINE -THERE WILL BE NO MORE CHANCES TO WIN BACK OUR POSTAL SERVICE!
ONCE THE BABY HAS GONE OUT WITH THE BATH WATER THEN THATS IT, IT GONE....GONE FOR GOOD!!!!!!
THIS CO-ALITION HAS DECLARED ECONOMIC WAR, AND WE ARE IN ITS SIGHTS! STAND UP FOR OURSELVES, STAND UP FOR DEMOCRACY, STAND UP FOR YOUR CHILDRENS FUTURE! IF WE DON'T THEN WE TOO WILL HAVE FAILED THEM, JUST LIKE THIS GOVERNMENT IS FAILING US AND THE BRITISH PEOPLE!

This is a very real picture of our futures in private hands.. Two choices a) Lay down and take up the jacksy!! or b) Grow some balls and make a stand!!

Personally, that won't stop me turning up on the Picket line, like I always do. But it's disheartening, to hear that even some of those who've stood with us in the past, are considering crossing the lines.

OR..........instead of rushing to the barricades maybe you should all have a look in greater detail at the partnership scheme that the Gov keep banging on about, no one has shared any detail yet on this, it may well work for you all, and the cost of change might be paid back in end of year bonses.

Even if you're right about the potential financial rewards (which I seriously doubt), there's more to life than money. Do you really think it'll take long before the budget cuts start, resulting in even less resources (both manpower and equipment/vehicles)?subbie wrote:OR..........instead of rushing to the barricades maybe you should all have a look in greater detail at the partnership scheme that the Gov keep banging on about, no one has shared any detail yet on this, it may well work for you all, and the cost of change might be paid back in end of year bonuses.

Then there's zonal pricing, which will allow the privatised RM to undercut the so-called competition in built up areas, but make it more expensive to post to and from Rural areas?
The Shareholders will only be concerned with their Dividends/Share prices. They won't give a damn about the Public. It's bad enough with the current lot, wanting their multi-million pound bonuses. It'll be much worse with shareholders.
