Precisely! It doesn't matter what's happened in the past. We can either make a stand together, or be doormats to the Fat Cats. :hmmmm

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No k979aaa this is definitely about the future of the CWU .............and it's about YOU.
What people are worried about is one hijacking the other...it's understandable given that that's exactly what happened with the last agreement.
By all means fight because you have very little choice, privatisation would be a disaster for us but don't think for a minute that HQ is fighting for the same reason.
We have a common goal but not a common purpose.
Billy,Dave,Bob and Co all know that the union is finished after privatisation and will do anything to defeat it or stall it...and i mean anything.

Sentiments I am more than aware of.

I worked for an eletricity supply company and was a member of the GMB when privatisation reared it's ugly head. As ft says the union will agree anything to be sat at the table after the deal is done. Perhaps the outcome of the last agreement is a pre-cursor to what is to come and maybe part of the deal is already in place.

Really? BT was privatised back in the '80s yet clearly the CWU weren't "finished" then, were they?
Maybe you need to get away from this strange mind-set that the CWU is some sort of separate entity from, and exerts unwanted power over, the work-force?
If you don't like them, vote them out, or are you like {A N Other} who's left the union but negatively posts at every chance.... :hmmmm

Funny as feck!
I could not give 2 f***s who's helping us to stop this and what their motives are,the thing could be hijacked till the cows come home and it's stopped,i couldn't care less!

Personally i want two things, privatisation stopped AND the union still in the work place.

Throwing a strop with CWU is not going to help anything.

T-man the union sits at a very different position than it did when BT was privatised,it has serious financial problems,it's very own pension deficit and is shedding members at an alarming rate especially from BT.
If self preservation did not shape some of their decisions i would be questioning their sanity...or their honesty.
...and if i do decide to leave the union i will make sure you are the first to know. :wave

All we wanted from last years industrial action was a decent deal AND the union still in the work place.
We got one but it was at the expense of the other...hopefully this time will be different.
