What other businesses (around the globe) have been privatised and actually thrived?

Is there a good model out there to suggest privatisation of RM is a good thing?

I am curious.

It depends on your criteria.

Workers T&Cs - None

Share Prices - After initial surge most seem to collapse or hold position for a number of years until they find their "natural level" and then tend to fluctuate with the FT500 and press stories. However, most shares seem, after a few years, seem to end up in the hands of hedge funds and corporate share accounts.

Bonus and Board Remunerations: All of them seem to go from strength to strength year on year - that is until a strategic fault line eventually cracks open and the old board are booted out and replaced by more of the same.
