"We are not proposing to keep a government stake. Royal Mail will become privately owned and there will be a share for the workers within that company," Cable told BBC Radio 4's PM.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
So Europe wins then at the cost of the people of the UK.
Well done tories & libdems, you have sealed your fate and lost the next election.
It is sad that the government elected by the majority of the people dont listen to the majority of the people.
The time has come to stop turning the other cheek, time to stop shaking our heads in bitter dismay, time to stop mumbling our angry words.
The time has come for union.

f**k all to do with europe this is a domestic agenda 100%
It looks like the're going to go with one of Hoopers ideas because no one entity is going to want or afford the whole thing.
The reduced need for corporate experience means that there are now greater options for introducing private sector capital and disciplines. It does not have to be a sale to a partner. The much needed equity capital could, for example, be raised by means of an IPO (Initial Public Offering), turning Royal Mail into a publicly listed company. The company’s need for cash, and the timing of that need, will influence the choice of preferred option
100% sale and remove all the regulation. Now thats a big surprise. Sell it off then let them compete properly so that they can make massive profits! At least i hope the queen has the sense to refuse them to use the word royal.

Yes but how many RM workers are fascist capitalist thatcherites as are this "Coalition"? if they have any sense they must realise that ROYAL MAIL should be run BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE

Well this isn't Gettysburg and Abe Lincoln is long dead and there's money involved so the people don't really come into it. Royal Mail is no longer a service in name only in fact. Had any Government wished to keep it as a service they had the power to do so but not the will. Probably a universal service IS a little archaic in these severe times and there should have been a realistic approach to maintain as much of the service, which was as affordable as possible, without resorting to a sell off. There has been elements of the workforce who really thought the gravy train could go on forever, when others have accepted change and have improved efficiency no end in the last 6 or 7 years, so in part at least they are the architects of their own downfall.
