"And union leaders warned it could take weeks to clear the mountain of mail as delivery staff - who are due to strike again tomorrow - are also staging a work-to-rule.
This means they are taking all their meal breaks and weighing bags to avoid taking out extra post."
Thanks again to the Daily Mirror for reporting on the strike and backing us, but please get the facts right. Taking meal breaks and weighing bags is not work-to-rule. It's doing the job properly.

Brilliant
What a good articial. Well I must admit I am one of those that now works to my 318, go in on time take my brake love it, they don't will not do overtime at all during this period of unrest as it bails them out. but not many people in our office will as they have gotten so used to getting finnished quick. It was not easey for me but with support from blokes that have never gone in ealey it made it easier. They do struggle to cover jobs in our place but they use the collections staff instead, they also use the collections guy's to make office savings, by getting them to do deliverys without having to pay out for the overtime. Cheap bastards.

Fantastic that the Mirror is reporting on the strike, I wish more would, but it would be better if they could also report on the strings attached to the below inflation offer. It is my experience that once I have explained a few of the strings attached to people they are astonished that any leader would have the gall to act in this manner. With a little more knowledge I am sure there would be a stronger public outcry. Once the dispute become the subject of every day conversation the papers will be falling over themselves to give column inches to it.

Well then mate why are they not negotiating. All they keep doing is they can't afford more. Well drop the strings and I'll take 2.5%. But whatever you do get rid of coleagueshares as they are a scam and we don't know, and will never know, what the targets are for the "ifs and when" bonus they keep ramming down our throats.A Royal Mail spokesman said last night: "The strike is obviously slowing things down.
"But we are doing what we can to get the mail moving as all our customers would expect."
He stressed management were willing to negotiate.
Power to the union. We are winning.

Or here's an offer you shouldn't refuse - give us 2.5% no strings and the money on our basic pay that you seem so confident we would have earned using colleagueshare and we in turn will do our damndest to justify that increase - remember, you can trust us - we're posties.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Well then mate why are they not negotiating. I think I'd rather the sun and daily star not report on the strike. Not sure I'd want their readers (like they actually read) support. Monosyllabic readership drag their hairy knuckles towards us holding a can of stella and dribbling down their shell suit top. Saying "Strike Postan Pat!" Oh what wit!

Never been a fan of the SUN (or SCUM) since that "Gotcha" episode during the Falklands. Bad taste or what.
