Pensionable pay

Is it only your contracted hours pay and the delivery supplement that is pensionable? Am I correct in assuming that all overtime pay in non-pensionable?

If you're a section C member then your basic pay + allowances are pensionable. But they also take off the Lower Earnings Deduction which is £3,328 (I think) to make your Pensionable Pay.

Yes you are correct. Overtime and Scheduled Attendance pay is not pensionable.

I think you will find that overtime is pensionable. You will see that you pay more into your pension when you do overtime, compared to when you earn just contracted basic pay. Also if you look at your annual statement, the amount of hours actually worked all count to your years of service.

I don't think that's right. Your Wage Slip will show that you pay the same amount into the Pension Plan whether you do OT/SA or not.
Your Annual Pension Statement shows your Basic Pay, the next two boxes show Assigned allowances, and then Intermittent allowances, and the total of those three amounts gives your Final Salary pensionable pay, and Career Salary Defined Benefit pay. OT/SA is not included.
OT/SA is not pensionable, and is not therefore counted towards EVR/VR payments either.

Edit: Contractual Sunday OT used to be pensionable, but that was ended by the Way Forward Agreement after June 2002.

I beg to differ Baldrick. Just looked up payslips and defo pay more when I do overtime. I am part time and maybe it,s just part timers that have overtime included. Maybe full timers cannot increase their pensionable pay by way of overtime, but part timers can. Anyone got an answer on that one.

Lincox - it might be different if you are PT, I wouldn't know about that.
Could be as you don't get OT rate until you've done 40 hours. Is the OT pay after 40 hours pensionable for you?

Perhaps you're not technically doing overtime at all, instead you're hours are being made up to fulltime?

Good work Lincox Hopefully that'll mean PTers doing regular 40hr weeks may end up with a pot to piss in, that's if they don't give up before retirement and get a proper job.

Surely part timers do NOT get overtime rates untill they have done 40 hours. Presume extra hours are paid at normal rate until they have done 40 hours thus making them pensionable.
