Re: Delivery Walk Speeds
I am not going to critisise on what "nitwit" is doing,(and lets be honest there are more of them....the converted are already on this forum..that is why they are so angry). There are most...and be honest...they are the majority. What do the "nitwits" want? That is the question. Do they still want to finish early? Ain't gonna happen.I remember reps 20 years ago saying "no" to that anyway.
Don't bite my head off! I know you are struggling on your walk at the moment. The mere fact that you are reading posts such as these mean you care about our future. However you have to face facts that folk such as yourselves are a minority. Get involved! Help your rep. He has a massive battle on his hands. With who? Not the business... NO!...but his membership!
We need a massive hand in this.
Before you slate me...bear this in mind and why this deal would need to be sabotaged by the "business"
The CMA are being consulted on what attendance patterns WE will choose. Yes! For example they have been told...8 hours on a Saturday for us...8 hours Saturday for them! They HATE it! Think!
...by the way..I know which one of you are management and I will have no hesitation in naming you,( and that will mean first and last names and your office).
...and what department you are in......you didn't think you where forgotten?
(The CMA have been VERY helpful!!)

Re: Delivery Walk Speeds
2% payrise they have been offered and talk of a 1000 pounds.
Acting managers back in uniform to save money,
No cover for managers day off.
RM casuals are to go
Looks like the CMA might be having a hissy fit.

Many a true word dvb.Now that I would like to see - grown men weeping
They will find it hard. The demands of the job have become greater, as have their waistlines since they stopped pounding the pavements. Welcome back to our world!

Right up until the point that they pick up their wages on a friday.Straight4ward wrote:Many a true word dvb.Now that I would like to see - grown men weeping

Then they will stop weeping and start laughing....at us.
They may be bumped back down to the frontline but their wages will not, personally i could do without some ex-manager standing next to me all morning or worse still....sharing a van with me.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Won't their pay be frozen though until it reaches parity with the new non managerial "Team Leaders" that come in after.

Re: Delivery Walk Speeds
How many would last until a Friday, FT? LOL.
In our DO we desperately short of bodies but our management team will go to almost unimaginable lengths to avoid having to go out on a delivery themselves. Anything but that, seems to be their policy!
I guess that even if they draw rather more money than us, were they forced to return to delivery, then the hardship would make their lives pretty miserable.

I have no idea TBT.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Won't their pay be frozen though until it reaches parity with the new non managerial "Team Leaders" that come in after.
I know absolutely nothing about managers contracts or what protection they may have but i would doubt very much that their pay could be cut through an involuntary change of job.
Of course the other point is if say 500 managers were to step back onto the frontline they would probably bring their seniority with them and take the place of duty holders....bumping the reserves back once again and possibly costing one or two on fixed term contracts their jobs as well.

Re: Delivery Walk Speeds
Lets not forget we are talking ACTING managers, yes I know they are all acting, and I don't know what other offices are like but we have 5 substantive managers and only 1 acting manager so it wouldn't exactly be earth shattering - but it is the casuals who turn up from other offices we won't be seeing. You all know the sort, see nowt, know nowt expect to have their asses wiped.
In any case we don't need them on the shop floor.

Re: Delivery Walk Speeds
The only time we have acting managers is when the DOM is withdrawn or when the DOM or the delivery manager are on leave.

Re: Delivery Walk Speeds
Anyone actually tried these speeds.Go on get a pedometer, and walk for as fast as you can in a straight line only, for just one hour,by this time you would have worked up a good sweat, and if the course takes in a proper hill,I will put money on it you will be breathing quite deeply. Then transfer your findings onto the real world, not cyber world, and add into the mix holding and reading bundles of mail.It will become painfully clear what a load of tosh these speeds actually are.And please dont tell me i'm talking rubbish, because I actually do this twice a week,to get to work, and if I were to carry out these speeds for 3.5 hrs iwould be on my knees, and so would you.Get real CWU and stand up for what we really can achieve!
