Can anybody tell me what RM policy is for men carrying on delivering after the age of 60 please. I have heard you can insist on being accelerated out but I'm not certain if there are any rules "set in stone" and would appreciate it if anybody knows the score?
Many thanks.
Rose.

This will be interesting.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

About 3-4 years ago at our office once you got to a certain age you had a "little helper" who used to do some of your walk for you. I very much doubt this practice happens anymore, as when that person retired it seemed to stop.

I know that the guy that was on 'my' delivery before me had said that 'my' delivery was getting to much for him. It is a very physical delivery with a lot of climbers. I dont know if he was lucky that another duty was going 'spare' at the time, but he got moved to another one and 'my' one was going spare until I arrived.rose wrote:Can anybody tell me what RM policy is for men carrying on delivering after the age of 60 please. In my office, the over 60's do not do lapsing. Small reward for 40+ years service.
