I sent a package from the United States, and I was hoping you could assist with who delivers it, and where it sits if customs/vat/fees are due.
I sent the package on Jun 20 with the United States Postal Service First Class International Mail.
Once it arrives in the UK, for a First Class International USPS package, I am uncertain if it is Royal Mail, Parcel Force, or someone else that would deliver that package. Do you know which one would deliver it?
The person I sent it to says they have not received it. It normally only takes about 6 - 10 days for arrival.
The area it is going to is Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire - postal code CB25 9NZ
She did not say she received any notice, but I am hopeful the package is not lost. I have a feeling it is sitting somewhere waiting for her to do something (pay fees) before it will be delivered.
It is not a trackable package, as USPS First Class International does have a customs form with customs number and value, but it is not trackable.
Can you help me understand how the delivery in the UK would work, which UK postal service delivers it, and where a United States Postal Service First Class International package would be sitting/waiting if fees are due?
Is it their local Post Office, sorting post office, other depot, ??? For that postal code above, can you let me know who/where do we call/email/chat to find out? I admit a phone call from the US will be expensive for me. She indicates she has talked to someone local, but they have no information.
I appreciate any help, as if nothing is done, the package will simply be lost or hopefully at some point returned to me.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.
Best Regards,

Re: USPS Package Question - Help needed please
If it is something of value it may have to go through our Customs to be taxed, I got a watch from New York, I think that took 8 weeks from posting to delivery, and I had to pay £25 for it.
The 6-10 days is normally for letters or small packages containing documents.
If there is a charge on the item and the recipient refuses to pay, it will be sent back to you.
