Dog attack...RM dragging their feet.

Had a Dog Attack, soft tissue injuries. RM admitted "Liability", and then wanted to investigate the "Causation."
All medical reports support Dog Attack ie, Physios x 3 , GP, Consultant, and...an Independant Drs report, recommended by RM, ALSO agree.

So, Independant Report sent to RM, and then...No reply.
Contacted, and threatened with Court Proceedings within 14 day, then...
RM THEN get back saying, they want ALL my past Medical Records! WHAT, they don't believe all the Medical Reports, and
THEIR OWN Independant Report ??? !!!
Why are they dragging their feet? ALL the Medical Evidence, Reports etc confirm the Dog was responsible.
What are they looking for?

We are now 20 months down the road, and they are still deliberating.
Is this USUAL practice, or special treatment reserved for me? Feels like Victimisation...
Have emailed Union Reps, yesterday - local and regional - no reply as yet.

Thing is...got another dog attack by a customers animal pending.
I BET they don't take such a close look when it's not THEM that are being held reponsible...

It's hard for folks to advise on things like this sometimes.But it seems strange they admit liability, and then drag their feet. I'd be a bit worried about their looking for 'causation' --sounds like they may be doing their usual, and trying to lay the blame at your feet! However, they have no right to demand medical records other than the ones relating to this incident. Was the bite very severe? Only asking because I've been bitten more than once, but never claimed----if only I'd known what long term damage couuld occur through infected bites, I'd have certainly claimed! good luck.

No bite, tore my groin on the third attack after avoiding the first two. Couldn't walk, use the clutch properly.

Dog had history of attacking two other posties, no warnings given to me. Nothing written, verbal, on the frame etc.

Lived on painkillers for ages, acupuncture/physio didn't really help much.
Still getting twinges nearly 2 yrs later.

Solicitors asst. said, prob better to give them everything, or else they might be accusations of trying to hide something.

Makes you wonder about their approach to posties, when all we get in their monthly rag is..

"Dog attacks: We have to ensure workers safety is a prority...new Laws need to be brought in..blah, blah, bloody blah..."

All appears to be Lip Sevice for employees and the Media/PR speak. A waste of ink/paper...

Are your solicitors Simpson Millar? If so how often have they contacted you. I only ask because I put in a claim for an AOD last year, had a meeting with the solicitors assistant in Feb this year and have'nt heard a peep since

Keep onto them, they are bit slow getting back to you etc.

But, they seem to be able to get the job done...so far.

I contacted my solicitor who was very helpful. She said they are waiting for RM ('dragging their feet')to get back to them on admitting liability. It also gave me chance to inform her of having to see the specialist now because my leg injury is affecting my back.

No news, nothing, zip, nada, zilch, nuffin, zero, not a sausage!

Spoke to the solicitors secretary just now, my file is finally on the solicitors desk From what the secretary was saying they've recently heard off RM and RM are saying its the owners of the properties who driveway I fell over on who are liable and not them. There was no severe weather policy in the office at the time of the AOD even though it was treacherous out on delivery, so surely RM are liable.........thoughts anyone?

Not an expert - bloody should be with 3 AOD,s - but, wonder if you know anyone who's "neutral" with a bit of Legal knowledge.

RM will twist and squirm to get off the hook, so I'd ask around for an Independant opinion.

My Son has had a run in lately with his employers and local "Citizens Advice" solicitor was EXCELLENT, giving free advice and info, without being too confusing!

As far as my case goes, one's been settled, at last, and another one pending. 3rd one I don't want to follow up at all, but being pressured.
