ha ha that's pretty embarrassing for them. Even right wing papers like the Times were taking the piss with the July stamp date on it.

copy of doc (Pensions)
Iv'e been sent a copy of the Doc leaked to the press and it is genuine
Work to 62 from 2008 and then till 65 by 2010------------nice,
thanks.
LTB.
Dear Colleague
Pensions
Branches will be aware of the article that appeared in both the Daily Mirror and the Guardian today regarding Royal Mail’s proposals to introduce inferior pension arrangements for both existing and new employees.
We are aware that Royal Mail have issued briefings claiming that the story is not true. We have now been able to obtain a copy of the leaked document and have attached a full copy to this LTB. The document confirms the accounts of both the Daily Mirror and the Guardian are accurate. Moreover, it demonstrates once again the complete lack of integrity in Royal Mail’s approach.
It is essential that branches expose Royal Mail’s dishonesty to all members.
The pension issue is one of the central points in our dispute with the company and the Union will continue to ensure that our members’ pensions will be protected by all means possible.
Further information will be sent out in due course.
Yours sincerely
DAVE WARD

There's 10 pages of bickering , defensiveness & right wing bile /justification on H****** about it. Oldest RM trick going, the charade of consultation but the self righteous " Our People said" .Usual Bunch of bullies who squeal like stuck pigs when they get a taste of thier own medicine. The story wasn't serious as The Mirror is only a rag, convienently forgetting The Guardian. :lfo :cfojafferpants wrote:AS I STATED ON ANOTHER LINK THIS WAS DUE TO BE POSTED ON THE 13 JULY BUT WAS PULLED AT THE LAST MINUET......

What do people think of the reply from RM to Ray Ellis re 'cwu scaremonger tactics'?
They mention that the CWU suggested a move to 'Career Average Revalued Earnings' (
CARE). and more worryingly in my opinion an 'immediate move in retirement age from 60-65'.
It also claims the CWU would accept this if the pension scheme was kept open to new recruits.
Either the above is bull or the union needs to open it`s eyes (and ears) and listen to it`s members on this. Shouldn`t they be concentrating on protecting our pensions at all costs rather than keeping it open for any possible future employees??

RM would [probably try & sack them on a trumped charge or with Atos Origin " manage them out of the service" , to save money and get DUMs bonuses & brownie points . I agree it's barmy , there'll be no SL for hospital visits or funerals as theres going to be a lot of them. I'm sure " Religious Al " will saying prayers for them with the rest of the congregation in Southall not!jafferpants wrote:STRANGLER IV'E WRITTEN TO DAVE WARD AND I AM WAITING FOR HIM TO EITHER CONFIRM OR DENY THE STORY. ON OUR NOTICE BOARD
Say a long 3 page letter from Royal Mail calling "in essence" the union liars and blaming them for leaking old information to the Mirror. I did actually start reading it but the lineo said I had to go back to IPS. So why did RM send out a copy of that letter to go on notice boards and then your stopped from reading it.
I got bored anyway is was full of management speak and was taking ages to translate.

I've tried to translate Jon Millidge's letter , my conclusions are it's very laboured , long winded and pompous , it's as per usual with RM ; how do we wriggle out of this ? . There is a element of self justification , arrogant assumption of the "moral high ground" , accusing the union of hypocracy. Millidge does contradict himself and tie himself in knots . Usual RM ' it begs more questions than it answers . Even if that was pinned up on the propoganda boards , I don't think many would be convinced .as it's far too long and convoluted .Usual RM it's easier to do things properly but there's the handwringing , politics and self justification.
