What you good people can do is...
Back us to try and keep this service in the hands of the people for the people... Let us Lobby The Goverment and change the way that POSTCOM can make RM work and let other firms Cherry pick from the work they want and still MAKE US deliver it as THERE WORK.... We have our hands tied behind our back as a firm and as a service to you... Level playing field is all we want.... The issues surrounding our pay and conditions are all there to see the TRUTH... Royal Mail Managers and fat cats HAVE had bonuses far above any in the Civil Service.. And it make our Wage cut.. Look like a joke,. I say CUT as in terms of conditions and the way RM want us to change to will no doubt lead to the service crumbling and becoming the worst service in the world.. From the BEST....
We the workers have a pride and a duty that we understand and uphold... RM .. Namely Allen Leighton and Adam Crozier have another agenda and can and will ruin this service ... This is what over 77% of posties believe and this is why we go to the lenghts we do.... SHAME BUT ITS THE ONLY WAY RM WILL LISTEN... NO ONE WANTS TO LOSE MONEY OR THERE MAIL SERVICE... WE ARE CUSTOMERS TOO....
OUT
WILLING TO STAND TOGETHER FOR JUSTICE AND A SERVICE TO BE PROUD OF ONCE AGAIN...
can big al and lil adam say the same????????

I think the best thing customers can do is follow the fine example being set by the postal workers at the moment:

Avoid putting a comma after the number.
i.e. 1, The Street often ends up looking like 11 The Street
Put a return address on the back.
Capitals are OK as are lower case charcters, just avoid cursive.
Make sure we can read the address through the 'little window' - the letter inside does move around.
Don't ask for your mail because "I'm waiting for an important letter". We are not allowed to give mail out in the street - we can get sacked for it - and often it is in the bottom of the bag and it takes 4 minutes to get to it - you can wait 20 minutes or 400 houses can wait 4 minutes. Which is better ?
Give your postie a nice Christmas present.
Most of us are alcoholics so a little nip would be nice. Oh, and don't forget your floater !!!
If you have any problems then get in touch with the delivery office. Don't jut let us make the same mistakes and then bad mouth us if we don't know tehre is a problem. I can't speak for everywhere but posties in our office don't take it personally if you make a complaint.

I'd say - if u get a letter for someone who's not there or moved out CROSS THROUGH THE ADDRESS and put it back in a postbox - Please don't just write 'not here' in small writing in the top corner as you will most likelly get it back to you the next day as no-one has spotted your tiny message!!!
Also - COMPLAIN! The management are in denial about how fast we have to work and how our accuracy suffers as a result. Not enough people complain to their Delivery Office about misdeliveries. If the management new how many misdeliveries there were everyday we would be better equiped to tell them that we aren't being given enough time to do our job properly. Any Posties agree with that one?
If you aren't gonna be in, leave a note for your packet to be left in shed/garden or if not possible leave a note day before saying to 'form-left' your packet. That way your posties won't cart it round alll day only to take it back to the office when you're not in - and it will be less handled, less likely to be rained on and squashed!
