Who will stop Royal Mail privatisation?

A lot of my co-workers are blissfully unaware of the fact they deliver mail for anyone else...

But let me get this right

We offer a first class service to our competitors at a better rate than we can offer Mailsort, which always gets streamed first?

That sounds about right. But what's suddenly occurred to me is that the later start times that are being introduced in the next few months is also to serve our competitors. Whoever heard of such a thing? A publicly owned company serving the interests of its private rivals, and inconveniencing its staff and its customers at the same time. Who says this isn't all about privatisation?

According to Robert Peston (BBC business editor) Labour's manifesto pledge means for the life of the next Parliament - 5yrs -RM wont be privatised. Also Ken Clarke has said that he is prepared to let Royal Mail use the money and modernise in the public sector.

Depends how far Royal Mail can go with this investment package, but hasnt RM been going through its "biggest transformation in history" for well over 5 years now??!!

Just like the last round of later start times. Ostensibly introduced because of new EU traffic regs ,however RM's application To Postconn stated Difficulties experienced by DSA providers in meeting handover deadlines as the reason

All, I urge you to read the following article re the Conservatives' plans to privatise RM. Without a doubt the Tories will privatise RM to the highest bidder as this is what the party stands for. Once in private hands, 'efficiency' will be the name of the game and jobs will go at an even faster rate and we shall all be made to work much harder than we already do. I for one will vote Labour as they clearly have shelved all plans for privatisation. Last year Labour only planned a part-privatisation, the Tories will go for 100% and a private equity house is being lined up - we all know what a PE house will do to the company.

I encourage you all to think before you vote, dont be fooled by The Sun and The Times - they are only biased against Labour as their owner Rupert Murdoch is all pally with David Cameron. Read The Independent for an unbiased view of what the REALITY is.

Please encourage all our colleagues to think before they vote, I really dont want the Tories messing up our jobs in the company we love . I still have some time to go before I retired
