UK Mail on track to match last year's turnover

UK Mail is on target to match last year's £386m turnover after posting a 2% rise in revenue in the fourth quarter, which ended 31 March.

In its pre-close trading update for the year ended 31 March, the group says turnover rose in all its arms (parcels, mail and pallets) during Q4.

During the second half of the year the parcels business also grew its market share, "with continued pricing pressures more than offset by strong volume growth".

UK Pallets did find customers were inputting fewer goods into the network over the 12-month period, but commercial director Graeme Wilson says the turnover rise was in line with expectations.

UK Mail says that as a result of the good trading performance it is confident about the outcome for the full year.
