And they aren't what you'd call capitalists.
They are state capitalists.

I think this industrial action would be dealt with a bit differently if the BNP were in power kinmad. Fascists have never been too keen on workers standing up for themselves
That's why they're trying to set up their own scab union. I doubt there will be much of a spirit of international brotherhood in that lot.
I hear they have 3 members now :funneh Their founder said the rich were genetically superior to the rest of us
The rich , genetically superior to the rest of us ? ................... A comedian, this bloke , is he ? :Very Happy

The unions should break from Labour - if there was a referendum tomorrow in most unions many would have left the party by sunset. the bureaucracy runs the conferences in such a way that they are rigged against any resolutions that propose disaffiliation, democratising the fund etc. just like happened at the 2007 CWU conference.

But the unions should'nt just go it alone like the RMT and FBU have done - they still end up supporting candidates in elections but some are the middle class greens or even Lib Dems. It chops up the working class vote instead of uniting it. We don't need a pick and mix policy at elections we need a party accountable to and controlled by its membership that fights for the working class (Labour never did either).

The Labour left stil say "stay in labour, vote labour or tories will get in" and they will say it louder the worse the Labour government gets and the more popularity it loses, and as we get closer to elections.

But this is just self-defeating. Brown isn't qualitatively any better than the tories now, and the longer we don't have a new workers party to unite struggles inside and outside the unions and workplaces, the more remit Labour has to attack us, and the closer the day the Tories take over from a totaly discredited Brown.

we need one of those fuckoff hammer smiley faces wiht a brown face & throw in cameron for good measure

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
