UPDATE BY THE COMMUNICATION WORKERS UNION ON THE ROYAL MAIL POSTAL DISPUTE

The Communication Workers’ Union Postal Executive have met this afternoon and have taken the decision to escalate the level of strike action due to the lack of progressive discussions with Royal Mail.

As Royal Mail have made it clear they are unwilling to engage in meaningful negotiations, the postal executive will meet this evening and tomorrow morning to plan a programme of strike action.

The dates announced tomorrow will be strategically selected in order to maximise disruption to all Royal Mail services.
I was sure I'd seen a bead of sweat on my line manager the other day - Until I realised that he had just brushed past me too close

strike action

Post by vigilante »

The reason nothing appears to be working is that too many people are not backing up the strike
by running around and not doing the job properly--it's been said before.
If the mail is generally being cleared after strike day whats the effin point of the strike day!!!!
I bang my head against the wall with short sighted people blinkered in their own self obsessed world!
One day you will realise--maybe---but it will be too late---flexy working sir? ----uumm suits youuu.
Like a nice pay cut sir?? uuummm suits you!

I dont agree with the box's being sealed,it may be a while before they are open again, besides they have plenty of managers to clear them and if our office is anything to go by coach loads of casuals to sort it.I would'nt think an all out strike would solve anything, that could see us all looking for other jobs,i hav'nt really got an answer, but i would go for a Thursday next week followed by Monday of the next week. Its certainly a tricky situation,i really think the goverment and AL & AC want royal disbanded, they will get there money and proberly get offered a job on the board of TNT when they take control of our facilities.

To be honest i am very worried about my future,i have 29 years service and i am 47 years old,so i have been here man & boy,i was looking to get my 40 years in,then go with a reasonable healthy pension.

I just hope Dave Ward & Billy Hayes can havel talks with John Hutton Monday Trade and industry manager that will be fruitful.

under trade union laws revised in 2000 by blair, no casuals over and above which is currently used by your office can be used for strike breaking.so, no there wont be busloads of casuals getting driven across a picket line.
