I have the option to leave on ill health grounds. If I accept and tick the box how long does this process take

Ill Health with lump sum, once you accept they will process it and you will be looking at about 1-2 weeks.

what sort of offer is it first.... you should check with HQ if of course your a member.... make sure your not be shortchanged... i like to think im a bit of an expert on the ill health agreement... any questions come back to me...

the lup sum payment for ill health retirement is the same for everybody.... 34 weeks pay.... together with your notice period... part of outstanding leave.... shares....

And AFAIK you don't pay tax on the amount, only the holiday pay entitlement.

Do you have to be in the Pension scheme to get that?
Or is everyone entitled to it?

UPDATE Ive now been told that the manager concerned should not have given me the option of ill health retirement I will be given 10 or 12 weeks notice and will be glad to leave. At least I wont have a problem attending hospital/physio treatment and 20 questions. what time? which hospital? can we see appointment card? BLAH BLAH BLAH

Hi just thought id ask as in similar situation, i have just had an ill health retirement interview and accepted, i work part time and will get 34 weeks pay plus nine weeks notice pay plus outstanding holiday pay, now i was just wondering will this be taxed? i hope not, does anyone know?

Not taxed but I hope you have another job lined up?
Why? Because if you try and claim benefits you will have to deal with Atos again and even if they have found you medically unfit for Royal Mail they will find you fit enough to do other work and make you go on Jobseekers.

Does anybody know whether the 34 weeks pay is based on your present salary or on an average of your last few months pay? i.e. When the delivery supplement comes in, will you immediately be entitled to 34 weeks at that rate of pay?

It`s based on your grades present salary and NOT an average,also it`s based on what your pay is on the date of retirement,so if the supplement comes in and then your granted ill health after this, you will be paid based on that scenario.
