I read that the business mailing people went mad at the proposal,i think i've posted it on here somwhere anyways,
RM have always like Saturday because business's like saturday because it gives people time to browse through the s**t they send out.
Ironic that most of it is mailsort and we don't deliver it on Saturdays any way

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
at last........................ some clever people on here who can see past their nose..
Most dont understand that the job,,, s**t as it is .
Is set out over the 6 days to protect the amount of people who work for the RM. You want to get rid of people great idea if it was the strike breakers. BLINDFOLDED if you think that will ever happen.
Mon - Fri will be my job, your job, your pals job NOT THE strike breakers OR THE MANAGERS
Status quo or at least a negotiated settlement where some of us come out of this with something is the answer, not being a lemming....................I AINT JUMPING OFF NO CLIFF

Well, that explains why there's so much more 'downstream access' bollox on Saturdays of late!

Isn't MS3 a service that's only paid for to be delivered Monday to Friday? I'd personally prefer to MS3 on a Saturday if we were allowed to leave behind all the DSA bollox. We make no profit from delivering, well, hardly any anyway. So leave that and take the stuff that is making us a profit.
Why is that there's always some form of bulk posting on a Saturday? Sky mags regularly turn up on Saturdays, Matalans are the same. And always 2nd class, never MS3.
I've had plently of arguments with the managers about my belief that the mail centres hold back such items so we get them on a Saturday. The Sky mag excuse was they have a set delivery date. To which I asked, why does that date fall on a Saturday every month when Saturday is never the same date each month. I smell a conspiracy
'It's like a finger pointing away to the moon. Don't concentrate on the finger, or you will miss all that heavenly glory'
My understanding, and I stand to be corrected, is that sky mags should be delivered on or before the 29th of each month and if matalan cr*p is 2nd class mail it should recieve the same service as all other 2nd class mail. So in theory if matalan post mail on a thursday it should be delivered an a Saturday. Also I think they pay more for the 2nd class service than MSC3.
Our DUM told us Sky mags should be delivered on the day we get them, when challenged that another office in our area was allowed to deliver them up to the last day of the month,he said thats right I've worked in that office and they can work them off!!!!!!! So he was asked what do we do then? Yeh just do as many as you can each day!!!!
Does this sound like any other DUM you know
The CWU sent a LTB to delivery offices regarding sky mags gazzer. 2nd class 2 day delivery span. The ones that come on M3 get 3 days.
A word on saturday deliveries. When there's talk of scrapping saturday deliveries, the DUM at my office told the deputy rep he'd like to increase saturday hours to stop mail failing. More like to make sure his bonus isn't affected. What a TW*T
union policy is 35 hour week with no loss of pay, that would make life easier and absorb alot of losses from machinery being introduced (whenever that is!). Instead of always "forgetting" to raise that one in negotiations, the postal executive ought to bring it to the forefront. Would also help people with families etc.
i must admit that one does seem to keep getting forgotten even though at one point both sides were supposed to be all up for us getting it,i mentioned it to my dom once and he reckoned there would be no way rm could afford it
