he should of put a card through the door to let you know but remember the person doing it had your interest at heart, i.e. he was trying to make sure you got it in time for xmas by leaving it with a neighbour whilst you werent in.

Parcelforce don't do special delivery and IF you did send it via PF, all PF drivers (at our depot anyway) are told to either leave stuff with a neighbour or at the local PO, failing that bring it back to the depot as a last resort. This is because it affects the depots performance and the monthly first time delivery bonus.

Some customers genuinely are not aware of, or fail to understand, the various types of 'signed-for' services that Royal Mail and Parcel Force offer. For example, it is a regular occurrence for customers to present a Parcel Force ticket at our DO to collect an item instead of the Post Office. One other common error is mistaking a sender bar code for a 'signed-for' bar code. An incorrectly completed '739' (Sorry, you were out card) can cause problems too.

Special Delivery's should never be left with a neighbour under any circumstances.

I ordered some Christmas pressies from Amazon and they split the order into 2 parts sending one part by Royal Mail which arrived no problem while the other part came by City Link, this is where the fun started. City Link on their online tracking told me that they had tried to deliver the parcel on 22 Dec but there was no answer, very strange as my hubby had been sitting in the front room on his lappy at the time stated. So the next morning after many attempts to get through I was told "Oh the driver couldn't get to you the roads were to bad" was I mad or what, I had been giving everyone in the house a grilling about where the "card" was that City Link was supposed to have left. They said that there wasn't any other way for them to put it online apart from telling me that I hadn't been in!!! Anyway I gave off to Amazon and got a gift voucher from them, also told them I don't want anyone but Royal Mail to deliver my parcels in future.

Never seen that to be fair, have with tracked though. I guess you are covered as the sender has liability.

:funneh Yes! BT insist the broadband routers be left at the address so the engineer can install it when he arrives on that day. Errr, not such a good idea me thinks. :wave :wave Happy new year.

An instruction that I ignore because if anything went wrong I would later have no proof that that insruction had been on the SD package. :Very Happy

These are just standard tracked though aren't they? Not 'specials'.

Parcel Force deliver a lot of those BT things and they all say on them No Sig Required and we are to leave them as that's what BT have instructed PF to do.
