need help re a question

Post by uplift »

Hi,

I've joined to ask you guys an important question re a missing parcel. I should have had a parcel delivered this morning before 1pm. But it never arrived, now the royal mail tracker says it was delivered but the section you can click for who signed for it is unavailable. Can anyone give me a clue where I need to start to get my parcel? It's not been delivered to my neighbours.

Unless the sender asked and paid for Saturday guaranteed delivery, which is an extra cost to normal special delivery on week days, then the likelihood is you will get your package on Monday. I am a postie and was expecting a special delivery today, but on checking the Royal Mail Tracker system, it tells me that delivery is scheduled for Monday. This is because the sender posted on Friday and did not pay for special guaranteed Saturday delivery.

Checked outside and round the back. Nothing there. The company shipping the parcel confirmed saturday delivery before 1pm. Plus it says it has been delivered. plus it is a signed for item. But has not been signed for when you go on the tracker.

Once the packet leaves the delivery yard, the system is automatically updated and during the week if the packet is returned it will be updated again. As I said, wait till Monday as the likelihood is that the sender has not paid for Saturday GUARANTEED. A lot of senders assume that by sending by special delivery they are getting next day delivery by 1pm. This is not the case on a Saturday unless the additional payment is made.

Cheers guys for your help.

Lincox - forgive me this is a layman question. So my parcel will say it is delivered when it leaves the main yard, but wont show it is signed for until a guy turns up at my house with it monday morning before 1pm. So at the moment it's in a local sorting office or van somewhere.....?

What area do you live in, the majority of Special Delivery/Tracked Items failed at my office today due to severe weather conditions and nothing was delivered apart from the town centre.

south yorkshire, parcel came from manchester area. If that's the case I have no problem with that. It's the delivered part of the tracking that concerns me.

In our office DOM told PHG to confirm all specials before 1PM regardless of whether they had been delivered or not.Customers then call the office to ask why EPOD says their item has been delivered yet they havent recieved it.Just another Royal Mail con trick.
