Hello everyone, a quick response would be nice xD.
Anyways, i purchased an item off ebay worth 500gbp (camcorder) and they are going to use Royal Mail to ship it to where i am
Which is: South Korea, Seoul.
The whole package CANNOT weigh more than 10kg*.
The Seller (on ebay) claims that the postage cost will be 82gbp +
Can this be true? 82gbp is almost 1/5 of the product itself!!!!
EDIT:
*When i say 10kg. I am GREATLY exaggerating, as the camera itself weighs a mere 0.48kg. 480 grams.

Hello,
If it weighs 2 kilos, then international small packet signed for, insured for £500 = £26.96
He / she is trying to cover their ebay fees with shipping!

Hi, according to the Royal Mail website, postage for a package weighing not more than 10kg ranges from £92 up to £137 with delivery estimates of between 2 days and 50 days.
It will depend on the actual weight of the item, for example the cheapest postage rate for an item weighing no more than 6kg is £71.79, 4kg is £58.29, and 2kg is £23.26. As Ernie says above, the seller is probably trying to make a bit out of excess postage.

Thought that you had to display postage costs on eBay? You should have checked before buying. Am sorry as I was scr*wed over postage on eBay. Good luck.

Hello!
I sent a package to a friend in Seoul earlier this year which cost about £50 £ (it weighed 2.5KG). That was for the basic service (no insurance) and it took almost 3 months to get there. Apparently it would've been a lot cheaper if the package weighed less than 2KG. If you're saying the camera weighs 0.5KG then there's no way you should be charged £82!!
Try this link for prices to Korea....

Hope this helps.

Re: Korean here, in need of desperate help!
Thanks alot fellas!
I contacted the member and indeed he/she was placing the ebay/paypal fees onto my postage and handling.
I guess i will have to pay the full price for now (582+)£. Which i am still a bit iffy about, as originally, i thought the postage was 22gbp :(. Ahhh... the lessons learned in life.
Anyways, thanks again!

Thats not allowed! Refuse to pay and tell ebay about it. Surely you can get one nearer home...don't you have shops?legendarylvl1 wrote: I contacted the member and indeed he/she was placing the ebay/paypal fees onto my postage and handling.

its not up to you to pay the sellers ebay fees for them. Tell them you want it posted at a fair price or you will report them to ebay and leave negative feedback. I bet they change their mind then.
