Yes we still do deliver on Saturdays - However today is easily the busiest day of the year, except for this coming Monday - so some deliveries will be late and I would not expect deliveries at the usual time.

BTW - You getting your mail is hardly a News Item for the rest of is it. :Very Happy Moved in to Customers area.

On Monday, the proverbial poop, hits the fan, in my office. It was only on Wednesday this week that my unit finally learned of managements derogatory Christmas pressure offer from our union rep. It is the same as last year. In reality this means that however many hours we worked over our duty time last year we were only going to get the token hourage. Many of us were short changed when we made the effort to work beyond the offered amount of hours to complete deliveries for which our manager would not give us further overtime payments. This of course has resulted in resentment over the past year and the majority of the the walking delivery staff have now rejected the Christmas pressure overtime. The upshot of this is that most deliveries will not be completed due to the increased anticipated workload. Clearly our management have been taken by surprise. They seem to think we will bite their hand off for any ludicrous offer for extra earnings. At this late date there seems to be no back-up plan for mail that will be returned to the office by the end of each duty. I'm sure the recriminations and bulling will start early on.

Wish us luck.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hit the nail on the head here. Problem is with longer walks if you are living at the end of someones walk, chances are your post will turn up some time in the afternoon...if at all (if your postie runs out of time it goes back to the office for casuals to deliver or next day delivery). Don't blame the workers, this is what we are fighting against...blame Crozier as this is his idea of progress unfortunately :Sick
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

That must've been a Saturday, we arn't allowed out of the office before 9.30 at the earliest.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
