"Yesterday i got a red card through my door with instruction to wait 20 hours before collecting.
So i waited longer than the 20 hours and caught the bus in to town at the cost of £4.20 i waited 20 mins to be seen then was told my parcel was not there!!!"
And it never occured to you that the postman might have been unavoidably delayed on his return to the delivery office ?
Puncture, taken ill, something like that ?
That's what's wrong with this country now, too many miserable bastards who always see the worst in others, leap at the first opportunity to complain and never have anything constructive to do or say.
We had to stop answering the phone in our callers office because people used it to complain and abuse us more than ask for re-deliveries. So we set up an answer phone with a clear message giving instructions asking for the precise information we needed off the p739 to find the packet and send it up for redelivery, what happened? People left nothing but complaints and foul language on it. So no we don't answer the phone any more until customer service moan at us for not answering it, then we answer it again for a little while until we get fed up with the abuse again. Rinse and repeat. What's needed is to just have all the calls go through to customer service then they can email the appropriate callers office with the redelivery request.
When I worked in the Callers office I got nothing but abuse down the phone, put the answering machine on and nothing but foul language left on there too. Customers at the counter calling me a c**t etc because there package was'nt in after a couple of hours, even though the 739 states 24hours. No support from management, no wonder I ended up getting depressed and had suicidal thoughts, all this because some impatient idiots can't read the back of the 'While You Were Out' card.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

That's terrible behaviour.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Quiet mild actually - I heard a woman in our callers office was nearly dragged through the hatch by a customer.
I have been called a Tosser and had things thrown at me. At the end of one shift I had an old man come in too early for his packet at the end of my shift after 20 minutes finaly got rid of him. Got on the bus to go home and guess who was on it and gave me earache for 10 minutes. I got off bus 2 stops early

I've feared for my life after finishing a shift in the callers before simply because of this. I'm so glad I don't work in there any more, I have a lot of respect for the guys in my office that do work there tho, you gotta be really thick skinned to work there. I also put as much info on the p739 (writing extra info like Amazon or play.com etc) now as I can to make their lives easier after finding out while working in there that poorly completed p739s are the main cause of delay for them finding a packet.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

i had a woman try and hit me with the 'our staff are not here to be abused sign'
then there was the woman who screetched off in her range rover and smashed into the gates because she didnt bring money to pay her underpaid item fee (came from a very posh area)
then tried to say the stress of the experience caused her to crash so it was our fault

Perhaps its a local agreement
Spotted the blue cards on the LM desk this morning, were apparently going to use them from tomorrow but under no circumstances are we to tick the 'will come back between 6pm -9pm' box
