Well what a giggle the post office at BOLTON is

Without the regular postie (RAZ) The post goes all over the place and the little idiots that TRY and take over cant read (thats even if we get any mail). To TRY and phone them up is the biggest laugh going. I just hope that ROYAL MAIL lose the contract and it is put out to tender then maybe we might get back to the postal service that we had years ago..............

Ah now I see the reason for the first line - just a small correction Royal Mail Letters and the Post Office are now 2 separate business that come under the Royal Mail Group. Silly distinction I know but someone probably got millions for making the change.

If phoning locally the complaint is not recorded officially, but has a better chance of getting sorted, however the people who answer are not Customer Service trained and in most offices no one is designated as responsible to answer the phone :crazy:
If you call the 08457 740 740 the complaint is recorded and a history of the complaint is kept in case of any future problems.

It was and TNT offered 1/2 the asking price (it was the best offer). Interestingly they recently admitted they are no longer interested in expanding their postal business. As to the service I personally for the last 5 years have being trying to alert members of the public of the planned deterioration of the service, its sounds like at last people are starting to listen, instead of dismissing it as posties moaning about Modernisation. :Very Happy

I know it's probably of little comfort at the moment. But presumably, your usual Postie will be back soon. So you'll get the service you deserve again.

You could try sending a letter to the DOM (Delivery Office Manager), explaining the problem. Particularly as judging by what you said. You only have problems when your usual Postie is off work. It could be something as simple, as the DOM using Agency/Casual Staff, who don't know the area very well. Which could be solved with some more training.

At one time, we were all trained very well. But sadly, corners are often cut, with Agency/Casuals. Because they won't neccessarily be working for RM for very long. And even new permanent Posties, don't get the same quality of training that those of us who've worked here for years, had.
