I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

no checks exept when management panic after an incident thieving etc & then they go through the motions for a couple of weeks & then it
lapses , any agency would have a field day - anybelse else like to comment ???? :cuppa
Hi surewecan seems the same at a number of depot's.The one aspect that really worries me, is the crb check which is just a basic requirement. Now i know as well as you that the company is overloaded with foreign workers, how can the authorities keep up with the constant movement of these people. Now please i am not going overboard on foreign workers, indeed in my old area they could not recruit people from the local community (through the agency) to work in depot's with no heating throughout the winter month's on a very low wage and in most cases no shift pay (including night's).

But a CRB check doesn't guarantee the integrity of staff - it only identifies those that have been convicted, NOT those that have got away with crime and NOT those that are yet to commit crime.

Totally agree lounge lizard, but does the check also cover crimes in other countries ?.I heard a tale from a driver of one guy working up north ,who was sacked for thieving, was then dis-owned by the agency so had to return to his homeland ,and on arriving was arrested for armed robbery he had committed previously. The mind boggles!!!!.
