Hi I am a delivery postman from hertfordshire,and management want to get rid of the 5 am start and move it to 6.15. is this happening anywhere else,if so how is it going down in the office?

Welcome mjo989- on here I think the general feeling is to keep it as it is or at least get a national agreement before bringing it in. Me personally would not like it especially in summer as you would be carrying more bags (because of summer lapsing) during the hottest part of the day - and I don't think enough has been done on the Health and Safety side of later starts.

It's crap. We're on 06.30 and only muppets and screws like it. Once we've won this dispute, I'll be having a word with HQ about the whole affair and how we were lied to. Fight it mate!

We have moved from a 4am start to a 6am, IT IS HELL DONT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU :sad:

I was told that Oxfordshire are going to 6 am start on 13th August. I don't think we going to like it .

hello

we were on 5am starts bout 18 months ago moved to 5.30 am starts

now they are talking 6.15 starts as we are over 50 miles from our nearest mail centre

going by the posts on here thats a lot of delivery offices that are all miles away from there mail centres

or is somebody lying thru there teeth surely not :nana :nana
