i recently had to take my son to hospital for an opperation, im full time, so i went in for two hours then left for the hos. it was only on the next working day i was told i would only get paid for two hours and the remaining 6 hours had to be taken without pay, what a low life, no descretion at all,this is the price i pay for being honest,i certainly know what to do next time

Hi Doylie, if I were you I would appeal. My son broke his arm and had to have an op the next day I was paid under Special Leave, don't let your DOM walk over you, ring payroll and see what they say.

special leave is up to the discrection of the manager in your case i would have have agreed it i was a manager for 12 years i been postman and phg for 18 years i knowsthe ropes

to be honest if you wud have been an dishonest postie u wud have gone sick but u didnt i admire u for that u went in and as an ex manager i wud have given u special leave a with pay as i feel thats exceptional circumcamstances
