If RM are not over staffed in the management department, then while they are doing the work of casuals and postal staff,
WHO IS DOING THEIR WORK? :hmmmm

No one, thus proving they don't need to be there in the first place.

Fozz, you seem to drool over Tom Melvin, yet at the same time state earlier on in this debate that you are unaware of any senior managers deliberately forcing industrial action.

You either don't know the man OR are talking out of your bum.

He was personally responsible for most of the industrial action in Scotland.

I was one of them

I get on well with uncle Tom, though nver worked for him directly. He has a very dry sense of humour and I've never seen anyone take him on.

I did a few days sorting around Xmas but don't remember doing 10 days. I did plenty of time whilst in Ops and didn't want to deprive you chums of some overtime if there was any going about.

He seems to be a fairly absent person on google. You see Adam and Al are the media faces, but there's plenty of annonymous people behind the scenes doing the donkey work.

Someone else to keep an eye out for is James Farren. He is the new regional Operations Director for the South-East. He was part of Tom Melvin's inner circle and a darling of Adam Crozier. He was the one asked to handle the Oxford situation so enough said. Personally he didn't impress me, yet he was a fully protected person and has achieved several promotions in recent years. If there's someone you want to get hold of regarding the East London situation then he is the one. He took over the Roger Baynes, who used to run South London.

As your reps and mates in the know what they think of him

Over and out but never down

Leighton, Crozier

Post by elmo »

Fozzie, please take ur head out Leightons and Crozier backsides! Take your mind back a couple of years pal, Leighton run as fast as he could when he raped Leeds for what they was worth.. (ask any Leeds fan) And as for Crozier. This is the man who brought Sven to take England forward... need I continue?

Big Al, does have Leeds Utd's blood on his hands and Little Adam does indeed owe this country a golden era in football as he royally screwed up.

F0zzie standing corrected and not smelling methane any longer

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Straws and Camels

Post by F0zziebear »

Tommo et al. The only news stories I've read are from the Socialist Worker's Party, which you must appreciate isn't always the gospal truth.

My own experience tells me that Mr Condliffe has got himself in te wrong place at the wrong time. I reckon off the top of my head that he will probably end up getting a reasonable redundancy package and leave. Management will need to save face if it becomes a regional strike. Having said that there are examples of posties getting re-instated. It depends on the strength of his case and whether the union gets behind him or decides that he is on thin ice.

It sounds to me that the background is a combination atempting to change working practices, some possibly over zealous management and that the working relationship has broken down. Condliffe probably stuck his neck out on behalf of others to say what he thought. He has probably broken some rules etc... I had situations where people were quite rude, and it comes down to whether you play everything by the book, or recognise the context before doing something, similar to football referees.

The union will provide all the advice he needs as to whether he has a good case or not. I wish I could give more help, but without reasonable details it's almost impossible and instead I've given some possible scenarios.

Ask any questions on this and provide any details you can and I'll try and give my take on it.

Good luck

I Know you said "possible scenarios" but me thinks BURSLEM might have another point of view??? I do, and you sitting on the fence wont help? I understand making a opinion on ALL the facts is clear BUT RM never do this IN MY OPINION and many others.. When it dont suit them to.. FACT!!! They dismiss facts and sworn witness statements when RM chose to... Happened with me. And I will step out on a lim and say MANY OTHERS have been treated in the same shabby disgraceful way. (Quote in my Appeal) MNGR.. "THIS ISNT A COURT ROOM" .... ME... "WOT SO UR SAYING RM THINK THAT THEY R HIGHER THAN THE LAW OF THE LAND?" NO answer back from said person...

OUT....
