DHL employees arrested in London

DHL Global Forwarding says it is conducting a security investigation after the arrest of a number of employees for theft at one of its London warehouses.

On 3 September, five male employees at DHL Global Forwarding's Heathrow site were arrested for theft, while a 45-year-old female, who was not employed by DHL, was arrested on 8 September in relation to possession of criminal property.

The logistics firm has confirmed that it is conducting an investigation into the incident.

A company spokesman says: "DHL takes the security of its customers' property seriously, and any breach of procedure by any employee, which could or has led to a breach of this security, is taken very seriously. Our focus on security is fundamental to the trust that thousands of our customers place in us each day."

A Metropolitan Police spokesman tells Roadtransport.com that those arrested are on bail until 15 December pending further investigations.
