New managers

Post by elm24 »

Fairly new to the site and just looking for some feedback on this topic. Should we be promoting from within i.e posties upto managers or do you prefer managers to be graduates from universities or others from different backgronds who have no idea about the job?

Hi :wave I would prefer managers to have worked their way up from being a postie, not a failed postie either you know the type the ones who were useless at their job and cut corners. IMO Graduates and people from other industries have no idea of what the job is about unless they work their way up through the service.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Thanks for the reply, I also believe this but it appears to me that all managers get tarnished with the same brush. They all appear to be labled turncoats and useless which is not always the case. If we want the company to move forward we must have people who understand the job and have a bit backbone.
