Re: Why are you on strike?
You called him a plank, a tit and questioned his age and whether he should be unsupervised on a computer. OK in banter but not in customers forum. The message, such as suggesting he read all the other posts and inform himself was spot on, all the other bitsbitchface wrote:im gobsmacked..i do not remeber any abuse..could you expand please..in message if you prefer,so i know where i went astray

For years the postal service was a cushy number, now you have a management that is intent on making you work the way they want (which I believe is what you are paid to do) all you do is winge about it!
You all need to stop moaning, get off your lazy asses and work; there would be no problem then.
It seems that every time PO want to make a change in the way you work your union want more money for it. Why can’t you just do what you are paid for and deliver the post, the way you are told!
Delivering mail is after all an unskilled job, any fit person, who can read, could do it.
All this bull about heavy bags and more letters shows you are simply work shy, I see posties every day, most now have all sorts of barrows, trucks, carts etc and only actually carry a small amount of mail in a bag, it’s just more whinging!
I get fed up hearing about it, just get on and work!

You obviously know nothing about the Luddites. Surely a more appropriate user name for you would be Clueless Tory.luddite wrote:Most people would guess, that if they were being "harassed and bullied" by their manager every day it would be because they were not doing their job to his satisfaction, does this not tell you someting?

Re: Why are you on strike?
personally i'm on strike because I remember when we gave the customer a service they loved
a delivery before work, a smile, a chat, a regular postie that they knew and who knew them
a happy postie that had a secure pension that they have earnt after years of hard graft
and because now all I see is us delivering into early afternoon, people using their cars and running round cutting corners just to get the job finished in time
no time for a chat, no regular postie and a management system that cares only about big business getting what they want and if granny smith doesn't get her regular letter from her daughter on a wed so what she only spends a small amount on postage every year - we can do without her
I love my job and I care about my customers ALL of them
I just want to do a fair days work for a fair wage ( I will take the pay freeze the country is in a bad way after all) and I want the higher management to realise that just because something works on paper does not mean it works in life
I want to paid for overtime if I need to go over my time and I want to be able to finish on my time if I need to without having to beg
I want to be treated like a human being that has a life outside work, I want to be respected for doing a good job
hope that answers your question
