I remember the phone books too. Like you say, was good money and fairly easy overtime as long as you had a van to deliver them in.

I'd love to see this Powerpoint presentation and the film. Any chance of getting them on here. I havnt had a good laugh for a long time.

As for the GPS, they were on about installing them in all the vans under the recent RTD agreement but as of yet, I havn't heard any more about that. The thought of my manager being able to track my every move does not fill me with enthusiasm.

At our WTL this morning we got a short video from ADUMB Dozier (cant remember what it said as I switched off my brain at the mention of the name "CROZIER"
Then a 10 Min POWERPOINT presentation about the "Business Plan"
Then another Video

KEY POINTS.......

* Meter reading for the GAS / ELECTICITY ( I'm NOT kidding.....No seriously, I'MM NOT KIDDING )
( you'll need your torch to see the meter under the stairs...... )

* Flexable working (do what your told , when your told )

* Anualised Hours......( Mega summer lapsing with knobs on ..... You lose ! )

* Increased direct-mail volumes

* Increased packet volumes

* Increased D2D's

* "Competitive level of pay" ....That'll be a pay CUT then !

* TEAM-WORKING !!!!

PS- Can you suggest some other peoples jobs that we could pull in on delivery to help Uncle Al get next years hard earned bonus for his MUPPET PUPPET ADUMB ( and a small bonus for himself too......)

Maybe we could take on the contract for social services and give old people bed-baths etc. Or collect the bins for the local council

However they're serious about meters, it's going to be fun on s****y estates reading meters, you'll have "contributed " to your assault , so no compo. also a fit up for malingering by ATOS Origin & stages .Is this orchestrated to inflame the dispute or is this a stupid question?, aparently we were all paronoid on another forum yesterday, too many conspiracy theories getting in the way of the truth , today it'll be privatization, RM can be sold off cheap & they are all keen to buy it at a knockdown price (now that has been done to encourage), it's all the unions fault for being Arthur Scargill so it's less pay or the dole. IDIOTS!

The union.

It came from a divisional rep at an area meeting. There's loads of stuff being trialled but again,the union is opposed to anything new being introduced until they have an agreement in place.

In one trial non RM staff sign a contract to deliver x amount of mail in their locale per day. They are contracted to deliver an agreed number of items per day,no pension,no sick pay. They are expected to cover the delivery of the mail through other nominated family/friends if they are unable to deliver it. If they have more items than is agreed the rate goes up pro rata based on the agreed amount.

Allegedly mum's are queuing up to do this work after their school runs.

This was suggested by a DUM on another forum , admin knows who it is!, all this stuff about them being a untapped resource , 1hr contracts etc.
I've had all these "bright" ideas on the railway, why is there so much crime ? because you've got rid of all the staff & British Transport Police you idiots to pay for salaries for non ops!
The best counter for all this was on a BBC forum , he said judging by the negative responses I'm sorry we appear to be a bunch of greedy , lazy idiots , militant & outdated; but be careful for what you all wish for, forget keepsafes. redirections etc , the competition won't do them, but if it's anything like the pizza leaflets / free papers ---Allan's ultra part time hoodies will soon get bored , YOU WILL GET YOUR UNADDRESSED JUNK MAIL THROWN OVER YOUR WALL WITH THE REST OF THE STREET AS WELL!
It does seem cowboyish , why not bother with DO's when you can use someone's garage F****** IDIOTS ! & we were all being paronoid about AL running the service down!
